It was hot and sunny out. The water had to feel great.
I piggybacked off the shot. Look at these two love birds. They’re a photog’s dream — playful, adventurous and so in love.
The morning primp: Ro, in the makeup chair at 11 a.m. at her home in Lackawanna. She was wearing one of Tom’s button down shirts.
It’s all in the eyes: Ro’s cousin Jennifer.
Maggie (one of Ro’s junior bridesmaids) is only 12, but has the demeanor of an old English lady sipping tea and nibbling biscuits in the courtyard. She gives a lot of hugs and addresses people as “dahhling.” And yes, she’s also wearing one of Tom’s button down shirts.
Unsolicited wedding advice: Always drink mimosas before a church ceremony, but make sure you pee before you get to the altar.
It took a small army of bridesmaids to adjust Rose’s lace-up gown.
Pete, the father of the bride passed on a mimosa and opted for a Bud Light instead.
Pretty maids all in a row. In the garden outside the Basilica.
My bouquet of white gerbera daisies. Ro scoured thrift stores all over Buffalo to find funky personal pins to stick on every bouquet.
The scalloped trim on Ro’s wedding dress had old world charm.
I caught Jennifer standing this way. We had all slipped off our heels midway through picture-taking and were standing barefoot in downtown Buffalo’s theater district.
The bridal party stampede. We were a tourist attraction.
With my sister Heelya in front of a reflection pool.
Mel stretches out in the sun.
Crystal is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. I wish I had known her when I lived back home.
A view from the front during a bathroom dress adjustment.
Pretty women: Mel, Sue and Elissa
I’ll spin you right round, baby right round: The blissful couple in front of Shea’s Performing Arts Center, a landmark theater on Main Street in downtown Buffalo. Photography backdrop from katebackdrop
I love the title of this post and ALL of your pics. Especially the one of Jennifer. Can you photograph my wedding? Thanks.

These are all beautiful pictures, Heidi! If you took these as an amateur, I can only imagine what you would do with formal training! Hell, I wouldn’t even think it was necessary!

Ho – Just a few things…
1. You are an amazing photographer! And you know I’m not just saying that…
2. The 2nd pic is my favorite! One question – Was Tom wearing rubber bands on his ankles? That’s what it looks like on my phone.
3. When did Pete switch from Busch to Bud???
4. Finally…you captured that beautiful smile, I could almost hear the laugh just by looking at the pic. I miss that bust your gut laughing we used to do!

Jennifer:
1. Thank you! You’re too kind. I’m actually taking Kim Andelora’s wedding pictures this fall. 🙂
2. Tom’s socks were apparently too tight. I love that you noticed this though. My mom said the same thing when she saw these pictures.
3. I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING. I even brought it up to Rose at one point. When she mentioned that Pete’s only reception request was canned beer, I was like, “Busch, right?”
4. Again, you hit the nail on the head. I had intended to mention Ro’s laugh in my wedding speech, but in the moment, forgot. Thank you for bringing it up.

Great pics!! Looks like a fun day. I LOVE when all the bridemaids dresses are a little bit different.
Sara: I agree. I think a different dress sort of lets each girl’s personality stand out.
Wow, congratulations to Ro and her hubby!!
I agree with Sara (and you) – what a nice touch to have each bridesmaid dress differ a bit. Wish I’d thought of that…=)
love you. love the pics. loved the day-all because of my amazing friends and family and of course husband. I have never been so happy 🙂
